We’ll have all of the software and hardware you need to complete your project in class. However, there are a few things you’ll need to get:

  • flash driveFlash Drive / Jump Drive – 4 GB minimum ($10-$20) – You might have one (or more) already. If not, they’re fairly inexpensive and readily available. If acquiring one will be a problem for you, then let me know. There is a limited number of devices available for rental or donation.
  • Dropbox account (free) – Get used to the word “Dropbox”. It will save your professional life. We’ll have full demonstrations on this and the other accounts you’ll need during a class session called “Sign Up Day”.
  • Pinterest account (free) – You may already have a Pinterest account, maybe not, but you’ll need to create a new one specifically for this class. You’ll use it to collect images that inspire your work throughout the year.
  • Portfoliobox.me account (free, with an optional premium subscription) – You’ll use this to create a digital portfolio near the end of the year. There’s a paid option, but only the free version is required for class.

If you want to work on your projects at home, it helps if you have a computer and internet access. If you do not, the school may have some devices available for rent or donation. Please contact me if you’re concerned about your access to technology or the internet.
